2004 SEASON

STORM WARNING
"Nancy Regan and Wally MacKinnon bring that magic to the stage...a sense of thunder and lightning to Storm Warning."

- Corey Leblanc, The Casket

"One of this summer's great theatrical surprises--and pleasures--is the knockout performance by former ATV Live At Five host Nancy Regan in Norm Foster's Storm Warning."

- Ron Foley MacDonald, Special to The Daily News

"The Walter Learning directed comedy provided a delightful mixture of humour and seriousness which combines to form a winning recipe."

- Corey Leblanc, The Casket

"Regan runs away with her role as a quirky chart-writing musical arranger."

- Ron Foley MacDonald, Special to The Daily News

"Regan delivers a glowing performance as the ultra-confident and brash Currie...Wally Mackinnon is equally successful in his role as Jack."

- Corey Leblanc, The Casket

"Storm Warning is perfectly scaled--two performers, a simple interior/exterior set--the play is beautifully written, with terrific jokes and a will they/won't they sexual tension that builds neatly up to the play's climax."

- Ron Foley MacDonald, Special to The Daily News

"While Foster's writing makes the pair believable and attractive, it is Nancy Regan and Wally MacKinnon who make the duo compelling... I heartily recommend you check out Storm Warning yourself. You won't be disappointed; it's a terrific production."

- Ron Foley MacDonald, Special to The Daily News

2003 SEASON

LES MISERABLES
"...exquisite attention to details of set and costumes...knock-out performances...wonderfully choreographed..."

- Elissa Barnard, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

"Young Company member Amanda LeBlanc gives a pitch perfect, heartbreaking performance as Fantine. You'll need Kleenex for her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream. Young Company member Jono Logan also stands out as both Bishop and the passionate revolutionary Enjolras. Katie Rawding as the adult Cosette has a beautiful voice and a natural grace on stage."

- Elissa Barnard, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

"This version keeps almost all the songs, and the music lives again in one's head long after the curtain has closed at the StFX Auditorium."

- Elissa Barnard, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

DOUBLE DOUBLE
"...a delicious summer diversion...The intimate setting of the Bauer Theatre works perfectly for the two-hander, directed by Jeremy Webb with humour and a spritely pace."

- Andea Nemetz, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

"Sherry Smith is excellent as the multi-layered London socialite Phillpa James...Even in the dirty, smelly garb of a street person Dennis Fitzgerald radiates charm, endearing himself to both the audience and Phillipa...The two actors have great chemistry and the acting is superb."

- Andea Nemetz, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

LEND ME A TENOR
"Three of Atlantic Canada's top male actors (Dartt, Fitzgerald and Doucette) perform with such high energy, warmth and passion that this much-produced play is fun all over again....It's a treat to see these three experienced actors as a comic team. The amount of energy put out in this madcap farce is amazing..."

- Elissa Barnard, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

"Director Walter Learning has the mechanics of the pacing, and the sightlines on the thrust stage working well, so the characters can shine through"

- Elissa Barnard, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

MIDLIFE
"...clever contemporary Canadian comedy...funny and well-written. The people politics and themes of power and control, loyalty and love are thought-provoking."

- Elissa Barnard, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

"John Dartt, Andrew Bigelow and Jen MacDowell all comfortably inhabit their characters. Bigelow is particularly fine in his physicality as Delvecchio unravels."

- Elissa Barnard, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

2002 SEASON

I DO! I DO!
"...the play is exceptionally well directed and features an energetic, eager-to-please cast of two who push the musical well beyond the standard level of summer stock productions."

- Ron Foley MacDonald, Special to The Daily News

"I Do! I Do! is entertaining and light...and because of the polish of the production, ought to do well as a summer diversion."

- Stephen Pederson, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

WORLD WITHOUT SHADOWS
"The two actors have put their heart and soul into two masterful performances in Lance Woolaver's intense play about famous Nova Scotia folk artist Maud Lewis and her mean-spirited, miser of a husband, Everett Lewis."

- Elissa Barnard, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald

CUL-DE-SAC
"...in a brilliant, sustained coup-de-theatre...MacIvor is a master of this sort of thing. A puppeteer without strings, he single-handedly animates the stage with real people as he passes through each in turn."

- Stephen Pederson, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald
