2012 LINE-UP OF LAUGHS ON OUR MAIN STAGE
From the author of Caught In The Net, comes Funny Money, another mad-cap, roller-coaster ride of reluctant wife- swapping and multiple mistaken identities. Jean is happily preparing a birthday dinner for her mild- mannered, accountant husband, Henry, but when he arrives home Henry is not himself. He has accidentally picked up the wrong briefcase containing millions in what he suspects is laundered cash.
Events unfold rapidly and when not one but two police inspectors call, dinner guests, Vic and Betty, and a bemused cab driver all become caught up in Henrys wildly inventive attempts to hang on to the loot.
The Tony Award-winning, Broadway hit Same Time, Next Year is the story of Doris and George, married to others, who rendezvous once a year at the same secluded romantic inn. A quarter century of changing life styles are hilariously and touchingly played out by these once a year lovers who touch a chord in all our hearts.
In Till It Hurts, Professor Seymour Mann, on the eve of retirement, is invited to distill the wisdom of a lifetime in a prestigious public lecture. The trouble is Seymour cant think of a single thing to say that he considers witty or wise. His day-of-days arrives and hes a nervous wreck; burning his hand while ironing his only clean shirt, losing what there is of his speech when he spills coffee on his laptop, and - the big mistake, or is it? letting charity worker, Esme OBrian, into his life. With "guest appearances" by Stephen Lewis, David Suzuki, Beethoven, and the King Of Ireland (AKA Bono) this hilarious comedy poses the age-old question: can a call from a telemarketer lead to true fulfillment?
